Sure, some smart, rich people say that we have to watch out for AI killing us all, but I’m pretty sure they’re just trying to make their new tech seem more impressive. All we’ve seen it do is put together some bad prose, resurrect dead celebrities, and give us pictures that invariably look uncomfortably off....

In addition to the timed DLC releases I’ve played everyCall of Dutyonline since4, and have experienced everyDLC packto date. I know, it’s insane, but I like most of them (Treyarch is my boy, blue), and a lot (a lot) of my friends play it, so I like hanging out with them. For years, I have always opted for the Xbox versions of the game, because of the reality that each DLC would arrive early for the platform, and it was the only way to play up-to-date maps with my group....

Not the new Platinum Game Anything can happen at E3 — until information is leaked and publishers confirm that certain things will not happen. Much like many excitingnew projects this year from Microsoft, Konami producer Ken-ichiro Imaizumi has come out of the woodwork and confirmed this morning thatMetal Gear Rising 2will not be shown at E3. Many suspected that it would be a potential candidate forPlatinum Games’ new project, but alas, it’s not to be....

And there’s the rumor that the first chapter (yep, it’s episodic, remember?) ofFinal Fantasy VIIwill be released in late 2017 — I think we’ll get more at E3....

Those waiting for Square-Enix to stop with the spin-offs and remakes and do something originalare in luck— a new DS puzzle game in which you match falling colored blocks is on the way! According toFamitsumagazine,Yosuminis Square-Enix’s web puzzler in which you arrange blocks into squares and rectangles to destroy them. That sounds … familiar. I don’t know’ The world ofMortal Kombat 11just got a little bit more dangerous, as NetherRealm Studios will release – nay,unleash– the latest DLC character, Terminator T-800, onto the gory fighting game’s roster today. During this “early access” period, Terminator T-800 will be readily available for all players who have picked up the “Kombat Pass”, before becoming available to purchase to the community at large next week. Historically, guest characters have always brought the bucks rolling in for NetherRealm and,given the buzz surrounding this cyborg psycho, Terminator will be no exception....

Oh behave! The cult indie hit,The Sexy Brutale, will be making its way onto the Switch in Japan. While that isn’t exactly a confirmation of a Western release, website Nintendo Everything did come across a PEGI listing for the game. That hasn’t been officially announced, but it would seem silly to bring such a decidedly Western themed game to Japan and not overseas. Nippon Ichi will be publishing the title in Japan for a fall release....

One of many things in the Predator Patch Hearkening back to a time when you had to figure out special moves on your own in the glow of your local arcade, the latestMortal Kombat Xpatch adds some new moves but it won’t hold your hand in explaining them. If you want to pull them off, you have to discover them — or wait until someone else does and posts it on the Internet....

They’re also super-detailed and, even for a game that isn’t making everyone sing its praises, pretty cool from an action figure standpoint if nothing else. The figures are rolling out to the Thailand Toy Expo from May 1 to May 4, but the sneak peek of the fully-painted 20.5″ Atlas and 6″ pilot are droolworthy enough to admire from afar if you haven’t stayed in the loop....
