This new Mad Max trailer is kinda awesome

Warner Bros. has dropped an all-newMad Maxtrailer. This video gives us a glimpse of what to expect at thevarious “fortified garrisons, or strongholds, located throughout the open world of the post-apocalyptic Wasteland.” There are guns and cars and fightin’ and sand and more cars and desert and more guns and extra fightin’ and it isglorious. I feel so bad for people who don’t play games. Also, I totally recognised T....

This War of Mine: The Board Game captures the despair of the video game

Depressing, but that’s what it’s going for Most video games about war focus on the glory of combat, vanquishing an evil foe through prowess and cunning. This is even truer for tabletop games; I can’t think of many games about war that aren’t about how cool it is to dominate opponents. This War of Minetakes a more profound look at war by examining it from a civilian perspective. I spent some time withThis War of Mine: The Board Game, and it emulates that same experience well....

Wave goodbye: Hellgate: London servers shutting down in February

It looks like Namco Bandai, the North American publisher forHellgate: London, will soon be taking the game off of life support. The publisher has announced that it will continue to run and support the game’s servers through July 09, 2025, at which point they will pull the plug. Finish. No more. The game’s developer, Flagship Studios, closed its door this past August leaving the future of the MMO in question. The game launched to mix reviews as well as host of server issues last October, leaving many disappointed with what was being called the “spiritual successor” toDiablo(a title which we now know actually belongs to, uh,Diablo III)....

We just shot the first couple episodes of Samus and Sagat

[Animation and thumbnail byEndShark] I’ve done a lot of video series on YouTube over the years —Teenage Pokemon,Talking to Women about Videogames,Constructoid,Sup Holmes,Art Hawk, and of course,The Dtoid Show. None of them probably would have happened if it weren’t forSundays with Sagat, an admittedly slapdash “rant” show I put together for Destructoid back in 2010. It was my first attempt at an ongoing YouTube series. For better or worse, making the show taught me a lot....

What is your platform of choice for Metal Gear Solid V?

I’m going with PS4 first, then PC When Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Painhits next month, it’ll arrive on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms all at once. I totally forgot it was being developed for last-gen consoles, and thought that was only forGround Zeroesto entice people to upgrade. So, all in all, that’s a ton of potential platforms to choose from, with a variety of factors involved like price (previous-gen is $10 cheaper),visual quality, and of course, some inherent risk involved that Konami screws up the PC version....

While playing your way through the chapters ofLife is Strange: Double Exposure, it’s worth keeping your eyes peeled for collectibles. Within the context of this article, there are Polaroids hidden in each chapter that can help piece together the story, although they aren’t vital. If you’re a completionist, or just enjoy the feeling of gettingachievements, each chapter has its own achievement for collecting all of the Polaroids. There’s also another achievement for getting every Polaroid in every chapter, so it’s worth gathering them all....

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 patch alters a cutscene model, adds fixes

Most of you won’t even notice Xenoblade Chronicles 3patch 1.2 is out today, and some sleuths have noticed a cosmetic change with a story beat, amid the vague patch notes provided by Nintendo. As spotted by Noisy pixelthanks to a bunch ofXenobladeplayers on Twitter, a story character had their weapon altered to (depending on your view) better fit the story. Suffice to say I’ll be as mysterious as possible to avoid any spoilers, but the model of a sword was changed....

A Ride into the Mountains is a great mobile experience

We’re back with another round of mobile titles you should take a look at. It’s no easy task finding actual good mobile titles as we get a couple of dozen requests A DAY, from indies to major companies. It’s no wonder many dedicated mobile game review sites charge the developers for reviews.True story. Anyway, we have another round of five mobile titles that peaked my interest the most. Four of the titles just came out this week, while one is a bit of an older release but it deserves some attention....

Banana is currently the second-most played game on Steam

Last week, I decided tocheck outthe Steam gameBanana, because I got nothing else going on. Suffice it to say, I did not see what all the fuss was about. This is clearly some sort of joke/meme I’m not part of, but that hasn’t stopped theCookie Clicker-esque game from taking the PC platform by storm. As of right now (literally, as I type these words out),Bananais the second-most played game on Steam....

Battlefield 3 TV spot by Freddie Wong & Corridor Digital

Freddie Wong and his crew make a lot of crazy special effects-laden videos as does the Corridor Digital team.Eachhave offeredtheirown take on theBattlefieldseries, which apparently caught the eye of EA. Tasked with making a television commercial forBattlefield 3, the groups joined forces to whip up a little sumthin’-sumthin’ in just 10 days. It’s always nice when fans have their works recognized by the source company, and it’s even better when the fans get an opportunity to work on official company projects....

Bungie reassures fans that Star Wars-flavored DLC is still ‘a Destiny story with Destiny characters’

In a world where seemingly every game features an IP crossover,Destiny 2fans have voiced their concerns loudly about the upcoming Star Wars-inspired Renegades expansion that Bungie announced this week. I noticed a lot ofDestinyplayers voicing their concerns about a full-fledgedStar WarsDLC, and rightfully so, especially after pre-order bonuses now allow Guardians to dress up like Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, or General Grievous, on top of other previous themed items. But Bungie is asking gamers to let them cook and trust the process when it comes toRenegades....
