Despitestanding by the system as recently as last October, an update today has phased out what the community has “affectionately” dubbed Microsoft Banana Dollars/Moon Money, in favor of good old fashioned official local currency. Now, instead of trading your real money for fake money and then buying games with the latter, you can simply purchase content with the former....

Super Monkey Ball. Tabegoro translates to “ripe,” “in season,” “good to eat,” or something along those lines. Sega has not yet announced this game. The most recentSuper Monkey Ballreleased in 2014 on iOS and Android devices. This could be another mobile game....

There’s a presentation on Sunday, August 16, which features, “never-before-seen gameplay, trailers, new reveals and surprises....

‘Director’s Plus?’ So there are any number of terms to denote a “bonus” edition of a video game. “Super,” “Ultimate,” “GOTY Edition,” “Ultimate Evil Edition,” “Fire Fades Edition,” “Director’s Cut.” The list goes on. About that last one! Followingthe reveal of theDeath Stranding: Director’s Cutversionthat’s slated for September 24, creator Hideo Kojima had a few things to dish out about the nomenclature. Lukewarm Legos Overall video games sales in Japan took a dip this week, and the only significant new release had poor performance. Despite opening in the top 5,LEGO Worldsfailed to eclipse even 12,000 sales. The only other new title to rank is a pet game, who just sneaks into the top 20 with 3,631 units. A possible cause for lower sales and lack of major titles releasing this past week could be due to the new season....

XSEED parent abandoning mobile role-playing game Cross Horizonis nearing the end of the line. Marvelous AQL made an unceremonious announcement Monday evening, disclosing plans to discontinue services for the title at month’s end. Curiously, the Meteorise-developed role-playing game only arrived on iOS and Android devices a few short months ago. The title’s microtransaction-laden item shop has already been closed and the servers will follow suit on October 31. Marvelous AQL will be rolling out a compensation program for players who purchased in-game items....

A number ofMass Effect 3fans are furious that they have been asked to recreate their Commander Shepard from scratch, due to a problem with importing data. If you created your Shepard in the very first game and didn’t alter anything in the second,Mass Effect 3cannot recognize it. Producer Michael Gamble acknowledged the situationon Twitter, but so far there has been no official statement on the matter, or a given reason for the problem....
