Game Informer’s survey asked around 5,000 of their readers about the fail rate of their Xbox 360s, and the fat number of 54.2 percent came back. Ouch. Compare that to the survey’s 10.6 percent for the PS3 and 6.8 percent for the Wii. Surprised? I’m not. In my mind, it’s closer to a 100 percent fail rate for the Xbox 360, as your first one stops working, and your second one works fine....

Free to punish players? If you were expecting to have a fairly comparable experience playingThe Old Republicfor free, you were probably disappointed to find out that you had a 25% reduced XP rate after level 10. It made the game more of a grind, and as a result, a lot of players who would have otherwise been sucked into paying for parts of the game left entirely. As of this week though, the reduction mechanic only applies at level 12, and will only slowly increase to 25% until level 20, which gives you abitmore leeway in terms of starting an alternate character....

Today they have announced that they will be bringing the latest installment in the classic dungeon-crawl seriesWizardryto PlayStation 3 fans in North America and Europe. While the series has been going strong in Japan, this is the first title to be released in the US in ten years. This is classic, first-person dungeon crawl stuff and the series is responsible for some significant innovations in role-playing games....

Is there an audience for this with Sony? TheYo-kai Watchseries has been Level-5’s bread and butter for the past few years, securing solid releases on mobile and the Nintendo 3DS. While it was huge in Japan for quite some time, it never caught on in the west, even ifYo-kai Watch 3is one of the most charming titles of the year. Maybe it’ll have better luck on PlayStation 4.
