Today Steam began its massive Winter Sale while competing retailers like GMG and GamersGate refreshed their own offers to look more attractive. X-Blades, an action game set to hit the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC later this year, has kind of been flying under my radar. I hadn’t heard anything about it until this past weekend at the SouthPeak Games booth at NY Comic Con, where they had footage of the game running as part of a looping trailer. Based on what I can tell, the game follows the adventures of Ayumi, a pistol and blade wielding blonde who thinks it would be a good idea to fight monsters while wearing metal chaps....

June is set to be a blockbuster month in gaming, as Microsoft confirmed a showcase to unveil the upcoming slate of titles. Microsoftconfirmedan Xbox Games Showcase on June 9 at 10 AM PT, followed by a separate direct for an unnamed franchise. The Vergereportsthat the showcase will feature a newGears of Warinstallment and other confirmed titles such asMicrosoft Flight Simulator 2024,Avowed, andIndiana Jones and the Great Circle. Additionally, The Verge’s report suggestsStarfield’s upcoming Shattered Spaceexpansion might get a release date....

Rovio just announcedAngry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs. It’s being developed byResolution Games, a Swedish studio that specializes in making VR titles for casual audiences....

Any objections? Capcom has announced the spunky young lawmaker and his wacky cast of associates will be heading to the Nintendo 3DS in an upgraded edition of 2008’sApollo Justice: Ace Attorney. You will be able to relieve the early days of Apollo, and his oh-so-kooky magician friend Trucy, come November when the remastered edition of the game will be released on the Nintendo eShop. The visuals have been given an upgrade and some new features have been added, including the ability to skip dialogue and an option to play the Japanese version of the title....

Coming to PC, Nintendo Switch, and yes, Atari VCS If you ask me, not enough creators are playing in theWarioWare-esque microgame space. We got a new gamelast yearon Nintendo Switch, sure, but a big part of the fun is that initial discovery phase before you’ve got every zany “think fast!” task figured out. With that in mind, I may not be super into Atari, but the idea behindAtari Maniasounds great....
