North Korea accused of raising MMO ‘hacker army’

South Korea has accused its northern neighbors of online skullduggery, warning that Kim Jong-il is using an army of young hackers to exploit MMOs and make some desperate money. Reports claim that the hackers have invadedLineageandDungeon Fighter, using software that lets unmanned computers play non-stop and acquire in-game points. Parasites sue Microsoft for Xbox Live failures

Now, I fully understand that the Xbox Live problems have been more than a little irritating for many gamers, myself included, but come on. A lawsuit? It just goes to show what a parasitic, disgusting, money-grubbing culture we’ve created when three greedy Texan wankers can sue Microsoft because they lost a few days of throwing grenades on Team Domination. While these leeches whine about “many plaintiffs being kicked offline,” I have to wonder what kind of twisted individual sees an opportunity for a lawsuit in this, a chance to profit from the situation....

PAX East 2023: 15 of our favorites from this year’s show

A whole slew of new games to watch for 2023 has no shortage of big, blockbuster games on the horizon. It’s a year whereFinal Fantasy,Zelda, andDiabloare all getting new entries. Yet coming back from PAX East 2023, I kept thinking about the smaller games now littering my release radar. Honestly, this is a major appeal of PAX, at least to media and the games vying for their attention. It’s a time where we’re in town for a few larger projects, like a panel or a big hands-on, but we then have a lot of time to fill with various booths and games we might not have known much about going in....

Player gains access to Fallout 76’s restricted ‘Vault 63,’ prays Bethesda doesn’t use the ban hammer

The FBI is on their way Fallout 76‘s current situation is even more absurd than you think. In addition to all of the bugs that keep popping up like daisies as Bethesda tries to squash them, there’s another huge issue afoot: cheating. While there are plain old cheaters that can be classified as black and white as ’90s-era 56K trainers and dupers, other situations are, well, gray. Simply put, players who are victims of random glitches or bugs fear that they might be banned by Bethesda: given that you need to authenticate with a Bethesda account and log in for this online-only game, that would be a big problem....

PSA: PS5 owners can now turn off that pesky screenshot notification icon

No more ruining my perfect shot Last week, the PlayStation 5 got afirmware updatethat added a bunch of new quality-of-life features for PS5 owners. These rangedfrom M.2 SSD support to a vertical trophy tracker, but I want to highlight one overlooked, but important, update: the ability to turn off the PS5’s screenshot notification. The ability to capture screenshots and videos in consoles without the use of a third-party device was an incredible addition to consoles....

PSA: Trackmania is awesome, trailer too

Before this trailer I had succesfully avoided any and all knowledge ofTrackmaniain any shape on any platform. Not intentionally mind you, it just happened that way. I am now a die hard fan and will be picking this up the second it hits the Wii or possibly getting it on my PC right now. It’s up in the air. Did you know that you can make awesome tracks in this game and then race on them?...

Shed a tear for Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD in this video

Japanese commercial captures the emotion I feel like we should be the one’s crying aboutFinal Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, since the game has already hit store shelves in Japan. But alas, this strange commercial for the game’s Vita release reminds us just how touching of a love story Final Fantasy X had for its time. Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remasterlaunches (with a sweet collector’s edition) on March 18 in North America and March 21 in Europe for PlayStation 3 and Vita....

Sly Cooper sneaks into his fourth adventure today

Watch the new launch trailer Sly Cooper is in for his biggest adventure yet as he travels through the ages inSly Cooper: Thieves in Time. The new launch trailer gives you a decent look at what to expect from the franchise’s decidedly Saturday morning cartoon-esque theme and platforming gameplay. Sadly, this isone of the few spotsI’ve seen for the game since it was first announced many moons ago, as in typical Sony fashion, they seemed to have completely failed to market it....

Star Wars Battlefront has a surprisingly small file size

Comparatively speaking, of course In a sea of 40 and 50GB game installs,Star Wars Battlefrontflies under the radar. It defies what we’ve come to expect from a triple-A title. I bet the other games think it’s a traitor and call it Rebel Scum. According to theEAStar WarsTwitteraccount,Battlefrontis at its tiniest on Xbox One (19GB) and at its largest on PC (27GB); PS4 weighs in at 23GB. Regardless of platform, that’s about half the size of a lot of current-gen games....

With just a few weeks left, everyone and their dog istalking aboutStarfield(if “woof” is canine-speak for “I’m really looking forward toStarfield“). Before then, we’re still being drip-fed bite-sized bits of information, including the story prior to the game itself. It begins in the year 2050, when humans take their first steps on Mars....

Styles Tier List Basketball Showdown

The nice thing aboutBasketball Showdown(previously known asKuroku’s Basket Showdown) is that there aren’t many styles to choose from. With only four styles currently available, it’s pretty easy to get familiar with all of them and pick the one that works for you. That’s the other nice thing: No matter which style you get from the gacha, you may always play around it and be a valuable asset to your team....
