That Adam Sandler filmabout aliens that find footage of 1980s arcade games and think that Earth is about to declare war on them is actually going to come out.Pixelsis based on a short film by Patrick Jean — now it’s a full-blown sci-fi comedy, set to hit theaters on July 15, 2025.
Sony Pictures’ press release says that the film will be directed by Chris Columbus and will star Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan, Josh Gad and Peter Dinklage. The studio is working with “many of the 1980s’ most iconic videogame brands” for the film, and says that it will “bring back beloved arcade game characters in a delightfully original manner.”
