In case you didn’t know, theCall of Dutygames sell like gangbusters, and then those gangbusters go on to sell more copies of the games, which in turn sell even more copies. WhileCall of Duty: Black Opsmay still be a few months away, it appears that the predictions for how well it is going to sell are here now, andthat predictionis 10 million units over its first year.
Industry analyzing people Cowen and Company say that the game’s very early presence on PS3 and Xbox 360 top ten bestseller lists is a strong sign thatBlock Opscould sell around 10.7 million copies and come close to hittingModern Warfare2’s sales marks. “This is a very impressive display of strength,” said Doug Creutz of Cowen and Company. Because of this show of strength Creutz says that the series may have only a 17 percent decrease in sales numbers instead of the earlier predicted 29 percent decrease.

Of course if this game sells strongly then it will place concerns over Infinity Ward’s recent issues far into the background and let Activision laugh manically as they count their money. Will you be one of the 10 million or are you sitting this round out?
