Now, an advert forVirtua Tennis 4on the Xbox 360. BecauseVirtua Tennis 4features support for Kinect, the video is a lot of people jumping around in front of a couch who are looking really excited to be doing so. It’s pretty much every ad for a Kinect game you’ve seen but with footage ofVirtua Tennis 4.
It’s probably silly for me to even be bothered by all of these ads and how identical they tend to be in the modern era of motion gaming. By that I mean all the ads featuring motion control from the earliest Wii spots to now because they’re all pretty much the same thing. I shouldn’t care because it doesn’t seem as I’m even the target, but maybe that’s why it bugs me and damn if that isn’t the most petty thing I’ve said today.

They don’t seem to be making ads to appeal to gamers, casual or otherwise, but to people who want to witness other people as they play games and make asses of themselves. It all feels so weird and unnatural to watch because it’s clear they’re all actors. So, every time I see one of these, I get this creepy feeling of looking in somebody’s windows to discover a bunch of actors pretending to be a family having fun together instead of the genuine article. It’s all so unsettling.
