Another year marks another new expansion forDestiny 2. Year eight of the FPS looter shooter begins withThe Edge of Fate, a new DLC launching July 15.
Having defeated The Witness inThe Final Shape,the Guardians now turn their attention to a mysterious invitation to the edge of the solar system and a new destination called Kepler. New enemies, weapons, armor, powers, and discoveries await.

BeforeThe Edge of Fate begins, though,Destiny 2will go offline for several hours of server downtime and maintenance. Bungie will be hard at work deploying the update to the servers, but in doing so, players will need to find something else to do while they await its arrival.

Destiny 2 server downtime – The Edge of Fate

When will Destiny 2 servers be back up?
Maintenance should last around eight hours, but this sort of thing is routinely extended, especially when a new expansion launches. Expect there to be some server hiccups and error codes in the first few hours after launch.

OnceThe Edge of Fateis live, players will have four days to prepare for the launch of the DLC’s new raid (Contest Mode), which begins on Saturday, July 19 at 12pm CT. Before then, players can run through the expansion’s story mode and whatever other endgame activities there are to level up and be ready.
