Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, which was originally released for Nintendo Switch in December 2023, is about to make its debut on both PC and mobile platforms on September 11, allowing more people than ever to play.

According to Square Enix, the additional platforms will give players both new and old a chance to “discover new monster combinations and immerse themselves in strategic battles.”

InDragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, you play as Psaro the demon prince, who cannot harm monsters due to his curse. Rather than letting that get him down, though, Psaro chooses to go out and befriend them instead.

There are over 500 monsters which can be captured or otherwise be created through combining other pairs of monsters, so if you’re a collector or completionist,The Dark Princecould teeter between being a dream come true and a complete nightmare. There are some familiar faces from theDragon Questfranchise, but also some completely new friends to be found.

The Dark Princewill release for PC (via Steam) and mobile on September 11, and I’m now counting down the days until I can go monster wrangling all over again on a larger screen.
