No ETA, but it’s currently in the works at Ubisoft

Oh,Far Cry 3— why couldn’t you have come out a bit sooner than during the first week of December? Perhaps it’s for the best that some of us get through our current lot before diving into what will likely be one of the year’s last big well-received games. It seems players are taking issue with the obstructive elements of the heads-up display and, somewhat astonishingly, Ubisoft has already taken this to heart.

In a statement provided to Kotaku, the company remarked that “Based on feedback from both press and fans, theFar Cry 3production team is working on a patch that will allow you to toggle most HUD/UI elements based on player preference. The patch will also avoid issues encountered in the .dll hack that might create a mission walkthrough break (missing QTE prompts, critical information, etc;).”

Giving access to these sorts of options from the get go is always appreciated, but it is of course nice to see Ubisoft recognize that this functionality is something players value in the first place. You’ll soon be able to murder wildlife in peace. Thank goodness for that.

The opening area of the Whisper mission, in a small grove.

The Divide in the Cosmodrome, where the Guardian was resurrected.

A holofoil Ribbontail, as seen in collections.

The Phoneutria Fera hand cannon, inspired by the Season of the Haunted armor set. It has a unique, galactic glow.

Three Fuses appear in a match of Apex Legends' Wild Card mode.

Mad Maggie opens a supply bin and an item with a symbol indicating infinite ammo appears.

Legends slide through a zipline in King’s Canyon in Apex Legends.
