Fortnite maintenance: Why did the servers go down on April 15?
TheFortniteservers went down on April 15 at 6 a.m. ET due to a hotfix for the v34.30 update.
The devs confirmed thatmatchmaking will be disabled 30 minutesbefore the start of the downtime, and the entire maintenance will last for an hour. The servers will be up and running by 7 a.m. ET.

Thelast time the servers went downfor longer was on July 29, 2025, due to servers not functioning as intended, and they had to postpone the OCE Div Cup Final as well.

How do you check the live Fortnite server status?
To check the live status of Fortnite servers, you’re able to simply head to Epic Games’official status website, where all the live status of EG servers are listed. Scroll down a bit, and you can find Fortnite as well.
If it says “Operational” under Login, Matchmaking, Login, and the rest, the game is well up and running. If not, then you will need to wait until the servers come back online.
