I was going to feature the brilliant new music video for Hot Chip’s “I Feel Better” for our Games of the Week post, but finding a vid without embedding disabled is impossible, so there shall be no promotion. Shame, because it really is quite brilliant. You ought to go and check it out yourselves if you can be arsed.
In other news, we played videogames! Read on to find out which ones!

North:Pokemon HeartGoldis actually my main focus this week. Nice alternatives withYakuza 3and3d Dot Game Heroes, both of which are also fantastic. Good month to be a gamer!
Ross:Wrapping upCommand & Conquer 4, got in someFinal Fantasy XIIIandGod of War III, still trying to finishMiles Edgeworth, and getting in little bits ofSoulSilverwhenever I can.

Tolentino:Yes, it’s a good month to be a gamer, but also a damnedexpensivemonth.
I’ve been alternating betweenResonance of Fatefor review andDragon Age, while playingPersona PSPto sleep and patiently waiting for my copy ofInfinite Spaceto arrive. Then I’ll be covered on all platform fronts.

Sterling:Lots of games this week!3D Dot Game Heroeshas been the main one. A lot of fun indeed. Then there’sFragile Dreams, which is like No More Heroes in that there is so much wrong with it, yet the overall experience is both unique and gripping. Fitting in some morePokemon SoulSilverwhere I can, for my Ekans must be cultivated. Played a bit ofPerfect Darkon XBLA. Also,God of War III, which is the same old game I’ve played before, but it looks amazing.
Also been rocking the nostalgia on the Virtual Console withOcarina of Time, and the originalSuper Mario Bros.that was gifted to me by Dtoid reader Tron. Thanks!

Aziz:I was playingModern Warfare 2for the Xbox 360 until my system finally got the 3 Rings of Death. Oh well. This just means I’ll be playingGod of War IIIfor the PlayStation 3 now.
Concelmo:I AM AT DISNEYLAND RIGHT NOW AND IT IS AMAZING! 😀

Chester:Spending a lot of time withJust Cause 2which is big and loooooong. If can manage to finish this game, expect a release date review.
Learning theWarioWare D.I.Y.ropes, and making my own micro-games!

Also been playingRage of the Gladiatorwhich is a surprisingly solid and toughPunch-Out!!style game for WiiWare.
Looking forward to digging into3D Dot Heroesthis week, too. Dale and Jim seem to be having a blast, and I’m jealous.

PerLee:I’m really diggingFFXIII. It’s weird, but I kinda like having my hand held. It’s a really relaxing, oddly. I can totally recognize all the complaints against it, but I still like it a ton. Go figure. HopefullyI’ll beat this one.
Tolentino:Hand-holding isn’t so bad. In fact, Resonance of Fate could probably have used a little more.

Holmes:You guys have3D Dot Heroes!?! SO JEALOUS!
As for me, started playingGod of War 2andFragile Dreams. Have about 40 minutes into both. I can safely say that if these two games had a baby, it would be the perfect videogame, barring that it didn’t inherent any of it’s parents’ lesser traits (God of War 2‘s soullessness and cliches,Fragile Dreams‘ lack of polish crappy combat system).
Also spent a hell of a lot of time withRondo of Bloodon the Virtual Console. Unlike the PSP game seems to be a perfect port of the original, barring the new German voice actor in the intro. Why’d they get a new guy to spreken de deutsch, and why didn’t they just have him speak some English instead?

Also played moreYakuza 3,Mega Man 10, andDeadly Premonition.
Sarkar:GotBattlefield: Bad Company 2on Tuesday; played multiplayer on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights for a total of, like, 10 hours or so. Yep, I’m officially addicted. I haven’t checked out the single-player campaign yet, but since somebody on my Xbox Live friends list is always playing MP when I turn on my 360, I haven’t had the urge to go solo.
I also checked out theSplinter Cell: Convictiondemo, which made me realize that I just might not be very good at stealth games. And maybe I’m missing stuff, but it seemed very linear in that you didn’t get many options in how you wanted to proceed. If someone wants to enlighten me, please do so.

Finally, I played a bunch ofMLB 10 The Show, as usual. I tried playing a few online games, but it appears that — yet again —The Showis pretty bad online. I haven’t had a single lag-free game yet, and when the delay is causing you to throw meatballs (or balls way out of the strike zone) and flail wildly at pitches because you have to guess fastball, it’s just not fun at all.
Razak:I finally beatUncharted 2and must admit I am impressed, but not super impressed. It’s good, and does some great things to make the game feel more like a movie, but also loses feeling like a game because of it. It’s like in this odd limbo sometimes. Nathan Drake on the other hand is just awesome, though I still wish they actually developed more than just a one-liner dropping action star. There’s no character development there. He starts the game the same way he finishes, and yet the rest of the plot is so deep and robust.
Finally finishing upSpirit Tracksas well. I got sidetracked (har har), but it’s still a blast.
