Mod coming for the HTC Vive
A mad genius known only as Downsider on reddit has moddedGrand Theft Auto Vto work on the HTC Vive.
Asyou can see in this video, the game renders in first-person with your gun mapped to your Vive controller and tracking in real time. Also added is the ability to teleport around by aiming your gun, a solution many games on the Vive use instead of having players use traditional controllers.
The best part has to be the ability to aim your gun precisely with your hands, as well as the room-scale tracking allowing players to duck behind cover and peek out to shoot. One thing that the mod will certainly have to include is some kind of tweaked difficulty, as in my experience even games with really simple AI seem challenging when you’re tasked with physically moving your body in the real world instead of pressing a direction on a stick.
