Stalwart titles return for the holidays
The top of the UK charts saw zero movement last week. Activision’s military-shooterCall of Duty: WWIIstill sits comfortably in first place, backed by big-bucks releasesFIFA 18,Gran Turismo: Sport,Star Wars: Battlefront IIand Ubisoft’sAssassin’s Creed Origins.
Despite the rigidity of these releases, holiday shoppinghasshaken up the back-end of the Top Ten somewhat.Super Mario Odysseyclimbed from eighth place to sixth, making it the most enduring Switch release in the UK charts to date. Top Ten veteransGrand Theft Auto VandCrash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogyhave made an inevitable comeback, with both reappearing in the big leagues.

Elsewhere in the charts, Monolith’sXenoblade Chronicles 2made its debut at number 19. Although this may seem disappointing, it’s worth noting that the UK sales are one third up on the UK sales of 2015’sXenoblade Chronicles X. So, in the bigger picture, it is a much-improved launch for the franchise.
