Free upgrades available for PS4 players

A newpre-release FAQfor Arc System Works’ attractive fighterGuilty Gear Striveincludes details regarding the sequel’s cross-play capabilities, as well as the relationship between the PS4 and PS5 editions of the title, due to launch on Aug 09, 2025.

In the FAQ, Arc System Works explains that cross-play support will allow both PS4 and PS5 players to battle it out with each other, but unfortunately the PC community will not be included within the same player pool. This is pretty shitty news, as allowing for cross-play with PC – alaStreet Fighter V– would have gone some way to help to support the life of the title on that platform. As it is, PC fans will just have to hope that they can maintain a strong base community from launch onward.

Players making the upgrade will carry over their accounts and all requisite DLC purchases. ArcSys has said that – aside from loading times and 4K resolution – the PS4 and PS5 editions ofGuilty Gear Strivewill be practically identical.
