New cosmetics, plus a new Slayer mode
It’s a new year, and that means some new styles forHalo Infinite. The firstHaloseason, Heroes of Reach, is still ongoing, and todaya limited-time eventwithin that season kicks off: theHalo InfiniteCyber Showdown.
TheHalo InfiniteCyber Showdown event will run from today, Jan. 18, through Feb. 1, with a new mode available and a set of free, limited-time cosmetic rewards. Ten Event Challenges will be spread through the pool of Weekly Challenges while the Cyber Showdown event is live, and for each one completed, you’ll be able to get another reward from the event track.

The new mode joiningHalo Infinitewith the Cyber Showdown event is calledAttrition. It’s a twist on Slayer where each team shares lives, where you’re able to also revive fallen teammates. Four-on-four, last team standing wins. It’s a little bit of a different twist on the usual Slayer, where lives will be on a premium.
Tick off those challenges, and you may get some cool-looking bright neon cosmetics. There’s a visor, mohawk, and more. Sick. I’ll be honest, I really dig the blue-and-pink Warthog.

After some initial fumbles from the first bout ofHalo Infinite‘s events, 343 Industries rebounded into the new year with a revised Fracture: Tenrai eventthat seemed to go over well. And the steady drip of new cosmetics into the game, especially fun ones like these that can be earned through challenges, is a welcome reason to check out new modes.
ThoughHalo Infinitelaunched pretty late in the year, it’s got a long road still to go in 2022. But with neon mohawks in its present andhopefully some larger updates further out, it might be a pretty good year forHalo.

TheHalo InfiniteCyber Showdown eventends on Feb. 1, so verify you start logging in now if you want to nab the whole pass.
