A year later,Metal Gear Solidcreator Hideo Kojima has accepted an award at The Game Awards 2016, this time for being an “industry icon.” His acceptance kicked off this year’s show, with averyemotional Geoff Keighley recounting his failed attempts to hand him the winged trophy.
“Last year, I thought I lost everything,” said Kojima, referencing his messy split with long-time employer Konami post-Metal Gear Solid V. “But I didn’t lose anything, thanks to all of you.”
And thank you, Kojima, for whatever the sweet hellDeath Strandingis shaping up to be.
