Save me some pumpkin pie

It’s me, your favourite British member of Destructoid editorial, here to offer good tidings to our community for an event not even celebrated in my country. For it is Thanksgiving, and across America many will be enjoying an extended holiday to celebrate… umm… something to do with pilgrims and the inaugural WWE Survivor Series.

Ok, perhaps I’m not thebestperson to be talking about such calendar events. Still, I’ve had some college, so I am aware that folk are supposed to –checks notes –“give thanks” during this period. So we want to hear whatyouare particularly thankful for in regards to 2019’s video games.

It could be a particular title you’ve played all year, an old favourite you’ve rediscovered, or an event you shared with friends, anything goes. We’d love to hear about any personal happiness gaming has brought you this year, so drop us a note below and let’s get a love-fest going.

I’m thankful for the return of Sindel toMortal Kombat 11. A minor event that truly made my gaming year. I don’t think my favouriteMKcharacter has ever had such attention fostered upon her as she has in this new iteration, and while I’m cursing the struggle of trying to learn a new fighter in an already-established scrapper, I’m utterly bewitched by her visual design, voice-acting and satisfying gameplay.

I’m also thankful for my role here at Destructoid. This is a job I take great pride in, reflected in the way it has, essentially, swallowed up my life. I care about the site, the team and our dear community – that’s you. Discussing video games on the internet is, quite often, a recipe for disaster, but if I believed that wasalwaysthe case, I wouldn’t get up every day and dedicate time and effort to making the site what it is. I’m thankful for Destructoid, and for every one of you, all helping to make this here house a home.

Thank you.

That’s more than enough out of me, so let’s hear from you. And if youarecelebrating Thanksgiving, have a fun, safe, and happy one!
