Every season, Sledgehammer adds a new event toMW3, with the Critical Countdown event tasking players with collecting DNA Samples. Unfortunately, these in-game additions are making it impossible to see, and players are sick of them.

Every time you get a kill, a DNA string appears, floating in the air where their body is, just like a dog tag in Kill Confirmed. Unlike Kill Confirmed, however, this isn’t confined to one mode and happens in every multiplayer match type, meaning there’s no escape from them.

DNA Sample in Critical Countdown event

Unfortunately, these floatingDNA Samplesare causing issues, making it impossible for players to aim and block sightlines, and fans are not happy about it.

“For the love of God, never put objects like DNA strands in the game ever again,” wrote ermor666 on Reddit. “The DNA strands are some of the most annoying and obstructive items I have ever seen inCoD.Not only do they hover in the middle of a downed enemy, they give off an annoying bloom effect. It can completely block your line of sight.”

This was echoed by other players too, with EL-SIN-NOMBRE-666 stating that “the obstruction of your line of sight is the thing that bothers me. The devs wouldn’t even have to finish a match to see it’s a disadvantage. I’ll never understand why they thought it was a good idea.”

TheEpicRedCape said they just wished that when you “collected all you need for one color, that color would stop spawning,” as even if you complete the challenge and collect them all, they still drop regardless.

I can definitely see where theseMW3players are coming from, as I found them annoying to play around this week too. I didn’t mind them so much on bigger maps, but when I jumped into Small Map Moshpit, the narrow lanes and congested areas meant you would see them everywhere, and on a map like Shipment it made seeing opponents almost impossible.

With the event set to run until June 26, lets hope that Sledgehammer listen to the community and make a change.
