Wanted game sold well, funnily enough

Sega has stated that it is “proactively pursuing” plans to port more “previously released” titles to the PC platform, following the success ofPersona 4 Golden, which launched on Steam in June and racked upover half a million salesin scant weeks.

Speakingin a quarterly financial investors’ call, Sega Sammy CEO Haruki Satomi and CFO Kouichi Fukazawa stated that the publisher was not only looking into re-releasing other titles to the Steam platform, but that it was also investigating the possibility of launching futurereleases on PC alongside their console brethren.As translated by DualShockers, the phrasing of the statement suggests that Sega may be referring to multiple game franchises, not justPersona.

Sega seem to be the only people surprised by the success ofPersona 4 Golden‘s PC port. Fans have been crying out for titles such asPersona 4 Golden, Persona 3 FES, andPersona 5 Royalto receive PC ports for years. Now that Sega has seen a favourable bottom line, it’s hopefully only a matter of time before these long-requested classics find themselves ported to Steam, to be enjoyed by new communities of players.
