On paper, a team-centric third-person shooter multiplayer game based onPlants vs. Zombiessounds like a cynical mess, but from everything I’ve seen ofGarden Warfare, it may well be one of my most anticipated games. There’s a gun that is also a dolphin, people! PopCap has dated the Xbox 360 and Xbox One title for June 09, 2025 in North America and February 20 in Europe. Last we heard, the PC version was set to be released “shortly after” this launch.
On Xbox One,Garden Warfarehas a couple of extras — splitscreen co-op and Boss mode, which uses Kinect or a SmartGlass device to put players in more of a support role with an overhead view of the battlefield (thinkBattlefield‘s Commander mode). There’s a price difference between the two versions as well. The game is $29.99 for 360 and $39.99 for Xbox One. Suits me!
Now, I can’t say I’m expecting this to be the nextTeam Fortressor anything but, again, it does look promising.
