I don’t think I could choose, personally
When Nintendo’s Satoru Iwata informed us that we’ll be seeing what Retro Studios was working on at E3, we all assumed the best possible outcome:Metroid. But what weactuallygot was an announcement for a follow-up toDonkey Kong Country Returns, titledDonkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.
Fans remain divisive on whether or not following up a game that had a Wii anda 3DS versionwas a good move, butaccording to Retro, the decision wasn’t taken lightly. At the end of the day though, Retro’s President and CEO actually felt like they ultimately had “unfinished business” withDonkey Kong— my guess is ideas that were on the cutting room floor afterDonkey Kong Country Returnsthat they wanted to flesh out.

Honestly, I am ok with this. There probably aren’t enoughMetroidgames in existence, andas a massive fan, I would love to see more. But if Retro can keep delivering good games just likeReturns, I am more than willing to play them. I just hope they’re happy and passionate about whatever project they’re on — and today, it sounds like they are.
