Yikes.
These renders could be completely fake, they could be part of a pitch from Factor 5 to Nintendo, or they could be an actual work in progress from anewKid Icarusgame, but no matter how you slice it, they’re pretty hard to look at. The Wii can handle just about everythingbutrealistic looking graphics, so to dump the perfectly acceptable Pit design fromSuper Smash Bros. Brawlin favor of this fugly Man Icarus would just be bad buisness.
If this is the direction that Nintendo wants to go with the nextKid Icarustitle, I hope they wait for the Wii 2 before they put the game out. Turning Pit into a muscular man would still be a deformation of theKid IcarusI grew up with, but at least it would be deformation presented inglorious high-defintion.
