The hardware’s time has come
Speaking in a recent interview with DualShockers, Producer Kenichiro Takaki talked about the upcomingSenran Kagura: Beach Peach Splash. While the interview covers the expected topics, such as how was the reception to the game in Japan and the West, DLC plans and so on, the more interesting tidbits of the interview were found toward the end.
In particular, the series will no longer be on the 3DS. Kenichiro states thatSenran Kagura 2: Deep Crimsonsummed up the entire story, and he has no further plans to release any more 3DS titles. This means that if you’re a fan of the franchise, it’s time to jump ship to another platform.
In addition, the gamecurrently in developmentfor Nintendo Switch was also brought up. While it hasn’t been discussed, likely due to the focus on promotingPeach Beach Splash, Kenichiro said it’s going to be a different type of title compared to previous ones. The team is looking to get the most out of the systems HD Rumble, with the goal of, and I quote, “allowing the player to feel the girl inside the game”.
The interview ended on the question of the possibility ofUppers, another game Kenichiro Takaki was responsible for, still being localized. Turns out he still wants it to be, and is actively pushing it. Which is awesome — that game looks really good.
