Last Friday, one of my coworkers brought in a homemade IPA. Now I realize that this is kind of a BS review because no one else will be able to pick it up… like ever. Still, I thought drinking boss-approved-beer at work was cool enough to justify it.
Normally, I don’t like IPA’s. Just not a fan of the hoppinness. Recently, though, I’ve been trying to break into the style by way of Surly, a local Minnesota brewer.
The brew I had poured really clean with a persistent, thick head. Nose had a strong aroma of hops. Opening was really bitter and aggressive with a sweet palette-cleansing aftertaste.
Pretty solid all around. Bummer that I’ll never have more.
