Probably, hopefully

Five Nights at Freddy’ssort of has a monopoly on mechanical animals in the gaming space right now, but there’s an up-and-coming title that will give it a run for its money, albeit in a very different way. That game isMekazoo, and it’s after an audience that seeks thrills from platforming prowess rather than being scared silly.

Mekazoo, which is being developed by The Good Mood Creators, is a two-dimensional platformer in a three-dimensional world. It follows an armadillo as he sets off to free his friends from an insectoid army. His pals — a frog, wallaby, panda, and pelican — have been turned into giant bosses, and once beaten, join his side.

Judging by the newest trailer,Mekazooprioritizes free-flowing platforming throughout gorgeous environments. The different animals have unique abilities, which allow them to access new areas. They can be switched out on-the-fly, adding a bit of a problem-solving component to the experience.

Mekazoowill roll, hop, and climb its way onto PC, PS4, Wii U, and Xbox One. It’s currently scheduled for a quarter four 2015 release.
