GTA V continues to go strong
If you would have asked me at the beginning of 2017 what I thought the best-selling game of that year would be, I would have said, “Whatever theCall of Dutygame is.” Why? That’s easy. Since 2014, the best-selling game of every year in the US has been aCall of Dutytitle. FromAdvanced Warfareto 2016’s good-but-not-greatInfinite Warfare,Call of Dutyis nigh unbeatable. Hell,Call of Dutyhas dominated the top spot at the end of the year charts since 2009, only giving up the throne once in 2013 toGrand Theft Auto V.
Yes,Call of Duty: WWII2017′ s best seller despite facing such other platinum sellers asDestiny 2and an incredibly strongNBA 2K18.

Here are the top 10 best selling games of 2017 in the US according to the NPD Group:
It should be noted the NPD Group does not account for digital sales of Nintendo game nor digital PC sales.

It’s not an entirely surprising end of the year list, dominated by multi-platform releases that no doubt edged console exclusives likeHorizon Zero Dawnout of the top 10. 2018 is sure to be an interesting one, with a bucketload of big PS4 exclusives and multi-platform games set to hit. I’m most interested to see ifRed Dead Redemption 2will finally get people to stop buyingGTA V.
