Huge is the gift that keeps on giving

About a month ago, Caitlin Cooke and I started a news show calledDestructoid Huge News of the Week. It’s sort of like if the producers ofSunday’s with Sagatwere in charge of the NBC Nightly News. Actually, that’s exactly what it’s like, for better or worse. Caitlin and I do the show for free, but the cost for equipment, shooting, editing, and all that other stuff couldn’t have been met if it weren’t for Huge members.

I’d like to keep doing things like this, and more importantly, I’d like more people who like this kind of thing to get a load of it, just like I’d like Destructoid to keep going, and for more people who’d enjoy the site to be a part of it. If Papa Niero had his way, we’d be able to make all that happen on a much larger scale, with absolutely no ads at all. A purely subscription driven Destructoid would be a much better site, both in terms of content and delivery. There is a reason why HBO makes more interesting shows than CBS. When you don’t have to worry about appealing to the lowest common denominator to keep your ship afloat, you can personalize content to your audience and take a lot more interesting risks in the process.

So if you’re still looking to give or a receive a gaming related gift this year, why not try a month of Dtoid Huge? It costs $3 for the month, or $30 for the year, and offers instant entry into all of our contests, exclusive content, custom layouts, and more. One subscription counts for Dtoid, Tomopop, Flixist, and Japanator. On top all that, 3% of your cash goes to charity. It’s a neat thing. I’m really glad Niero made it happen.

Happy Holidays everybody, and thanks for being a part of Destructoid.
