Even thoughStarfieldhas only been out for a couple of weeks, its first story expansion DLC, Shattered Space, is already being developed. ThePremium Edition ofStarfieldincludes the Shattered Space expansion, which is where we got the term “story expansion” from. This is everything we know about the Shattered Space expansion so far.
StarfieldShattered Space expansion details
Bethesda has yet to confirm any details about the Shattered Space expansion forStarfield, other than it being story DLC. Bethesda has already confirmed it plans to supportStarfieldfor years, which is similar to their other titles.
If we look back at DLC and expansions for other Bethesda titles, we can get an idea of what to expect. Even though Shattered Space is a story expansion, we may also get some new gameplay features or systems. For example,Fallout 4had expansions that focused on the story while also letting players do new things like build their own vaults, play as a raider, and even build automation robots.
WithStarfield, the open-world RPG already has a very intricate outpost-building system. In fact, the system is somewhat of an enhanced version of all the building features from previous games. However, it is possible we see refinements to outpost building and even ship building.
Of course, all of this is pure speculation at this point until Bethesda provides more information on what we could expect.

Where will theStarfieldstory go in the Shattered Space expansion?
We haven’t gotten any specific details on what to expect story-wise with the Shattered Space expansion, but we can speculate. This speculation is based on what happens at the end ofStarfield, primarily its story missions.
At the end ofStarfield, players are given the option to enter Unity and sacrifice themself, being reborn as a Starborn in an alternate universe. When this happens, the loop sort of continues itself with NG+. You continue to hunt down the Artifacts, and find Unity again in the new universe.
However, we get a hint of the possible future ofStarfieldwhen we reach Unity. As we talk with a familiar being at Unity, we learn about the Creators, who are responsible for creating Unity. We don’t get much more information though, other than that they exist. It’s possible in Shattered Space we seek out the Creators and perhaps find out more information about our universe and its creation.
It’s also quite possible will get some new planets with their own unique storylines as well. Some of the best dialogue and story inStarfieldtake place on planets that aren’t part of the main story.
Overall, even though we know what the Starfield Shattered Space expansion is in terms of it being a story DLC, that’s about it. There’s still much about the expansion we don’t know, including what content it will have. Once we hear anything about Bethesda in regards to the expansion, we will be sure to update this post.
