A new thing with hints of both series
Nintendo showed off some weird Japanese idol game during its digital event. I figured it was notShin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem, just like last time they showed what ended up indeed beingShin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem. Except!
Now it seems likeShin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblemdoesn’t exist? Instead it’s a new game with loose inspirations from both series.
Right now it’s calledGenei Ibun Roku #FE— that’s “FE” forFire Emblemand a “sharp” music sign — or actually #GIRFE on twitter. Nintendo just had it up on the Treehouse and istweetingabout it, “isn’t necessarily a Shin Megami Tensei/Fire Emblem crossover – it’s an entirely new experience.”
It is a completely turn-based game, as seen below. “Music plays a large part in#GIRFE. The songs and dances were created with well known Japanese songwriters and choreographers.,” too.
