The officialGenshin Impactrelease date isSeptember 28, 2020. The game is heading towards its 4th anniversary; let’s hope this year has a better celebration than the last. Some, however, may have played this gacha game much earlier through a beta.
The first closed beta test began on July 08, 2025, almost a year and a half before Genshin Impact’s first official release. Further beta tests took place on June 30, 2025, and then June 09, 2025.
When was the game announced?
Before theGenshin Impactlaunch date was confirmed, MiHoYo announced the game during E3 2019. Many at the time brushed it off as aBreath of the Wildclone due to its climbing mechanics and elemental reactions in the environment. Despite these critiques, the game became highly anticipated.
