How to use the Aethercompass in FFXIV
If you’re hunting for Aether Currents, I strongly recommend putting the Aether Compasson one of your Hotbars. All you need to do is drag it from the Collection window onto any available slot.
Once this is done, you’re able to click on the Aether Compass at any point, and a notification will appear on screen telling you how far you are from the nearest Aether Current, and which direction you need to head.
If you use your Aether Compass in an area where no Aether Currents are available to unlock, you’ll receive a message saying “The compass does not detect any nearby currents.”
